Bob Borden
Bob Borden (1969) was a writer for ''The Late Show with David Letterman''. He began as a mailroom intern while attending Kent State University. Letterman soon began using him in various sketches, including "Dave Finds Bob a Date" and "Bob Borden Looks for Urkel." In the ten years since, Borden has held several positions, with the two most-recent being "writer's researcher" and writer. During the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike Borden along with fellow ''Late Show'' writers Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel, Bill Scheft, Matt Roberts, Tom Ruprecht, Jeremy Weiner, Steve Young, Lee Ellenberg, and Joe Grossman posted their "thoughts and observations" at http://lateshowwritersonstrike.com/. The strike also prompted Borden to again post to his own website, after an absence of over a year. On April 20, 2009, Borden announced (on his blog ) that he had been unemployed for a few weeks, but was keeping busy by applying to other shows.
